LOCKS AND QUAY WALLS
At quay walls and ship locks accidental damage may occur due to collision, and large water level fluctuations or the ships propeller action may result in soil erosion, which in turn can lead to stability problems or even collapse.
Cracks and joints can be sealed as with other retaining walls.
Screen injection may be required to address the cause.
In case of larger soil erosion, cavities in the soil should be filled and soil stabilisation may be required, as described in the SPETEC® geotechnical solutions.
