Dyke reinforcements
Dykes have a water retaining function and are usually composed of different materials. If they are to retain water with limited wave overtopping, it may be a full soil dyke, but for navigable waterways, loose revetment material or gravel is provided on the water side. Dykes as a flood control measure can also erode heavily through the back side due to wave overtopping and lead to a dyke breach, and nowadays they will almost always be lined with gravel on the back side as well.
Various resins are available within the SPETEC® range for stabilizsng or reinforcing dykes. To prevent dike seepage and piping it may also be necessary to apply a resin based water retaining screen behind the dyke.
A cost-efficient solution is always worked out together with the customer in function of the structure.
