Protection of ramps
Weather-exposed ramps are provided with an elastomeric waterproofing membrane and wear layer, while for indoor conditions they can be protected using a wear layer.
The slip and wear resistance of these structures is even more important than for horizontal decks. To obtain increased wear resistance, it is recommended to apply the wear layer in 2 layers.
When renovating ramps, full access has to be closed, and usually leads to a great loss of revenue. With PMMA and PUMA systems, periods of decommissioning are minimised.
Depending on the size and condition of the substrate, ramps can be renovated in only 1 day and be opened again as soon as 2 hours after completion of the works.
